My Journey to Building Gharib Improvement
I was born and raised in Windsor. My father was a hardworking taxi driver, and my mother built her career as a hairstylist. Watching them both work tirelessly to support our family, I learned early on that nothing beats hard work, dedication, and doing things with heart.
After high school, I completed the Woodworking Technician program at St. Clair College, earning my diploma in two years. I started out doing labor jobs in the renovation field, often earning just $13 an hour. The work was tough, and growth felt out of reach — but I kept showing up, learning, and pushing forward.
Things shifted when a close friend believed in me. He offered me a role in concrete work, paying $20 an hour — a game-changer at the time. More than the raise, it was an opportunity to learn a real trade and start mastering a craft. Day by day, I built my skills, my confidence, and my passion for the work.
But deep down, I always wanted more than just a job — I wanted to build something of my own. A company that treats clients with respect, delivers quality work, and builds trust the same way we build homes: one solid layer at a time.
That’s how Gharib Improvement was born.
Today, we proudly serve the Windsor-Essex area with high-quality concrete and renovation services — built on the same values I grew up with: honesty, pride in our work, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
